In addition to cat food and water bowls, the sanitation of cat toys is also worrying. The National Health Foundation of the United States has conducted a comprehensive inspection of 30 households to measure the level of bacterial contamination. Among the top ten places with the most bacteria listed, pet bowls and pet toys are among them. A large number of MRSA, Pasteurella multocida, and a variety of coryneform bacteria have been detected from pet bowls and toys. The amount of these bacteria is far beyond the normal level. Part of these bacteria comes from the environment, and part comes from the pet's mouth. They attach to food bowls and toys with saliva when eating and playing.
It is important to master the cat supplies cleaning skills
1. For washable plush cat toys, they should be washed at least once a month.
2. For cat toys that cannot be cleaned, such as cat fishing rod, they need to be exposed to the sun or sterilized with ultraviolet rays; of course, they can also be replaced directly with new ones regularly.
3. Cat litter boxes, food bowls, and cat toys can all be exposed to the sun for disinfection at intervals. The cat litter box also needs to be cleaned in time. Generally, it is recommended that the cat owner clean up the poop after the cat has excreted.
Precautions during disinfection
1 When using the disinfectant, it must be diluted in proportion scientifically. If the dilution is not enough, it will be very corrosive, which can easily lead to cat poisoning, vomiting, abdominal pain and other situations.
2 If the floor is not dry after disinfection, not to let the cat walk and touch it to avoid the residual disinfectant from damaging the cat's paws.
